BASIC TUTORIAL
The following is a basic tutorial outlining the steps utilized to record/capture video and basic use of The iNSTA-Pro Analyzer.
Upon launching The iNSTA-Pro Analyzer you will come to Swings or Launch screen depending on your Profile settings.
Video Recording
Once you are lined up on the subject and are prepared for recording, press the <Record> camcorder icon on lower left. This will bring up the camcorder screen. Align the center box on subject and press the <Record> icon center bottom being careful to steady the iphone (as shaky video will throw off the anaylsis). Press the <Record> icon again to stop the video recording.
Try to start the video as close as possible to the beginning of the motion and stop quickly at the end. The iNSTA-Pro Analyzer software allows for a maximum of 8 seconds of video recording to ensure optimal use of the available resources on your iPhone™ or iPad™. However, you can record up to 2 minutes of video - but you must clip to the 8 seconds for analysis (this feature allows one to video them self).
Upon stopping the captured video, the screen will show a video clip bar at top and controls at the bottom. Choose either <Retake> to shoot the video again or <Use> to move to editing the video.
Tapping the <Use> button will show you the Edit Video screen.
You will be taken to the Analysis screen and you will see the video you just took, ready for your review. You will see "Building" and optionally "Uploading" status bars at the bottom showing the progress of rendering your file from the raw video and formatting it for use in your iNSTA-Pro Analyzer.
You will see icons for the drawing tools on top (circle, line, & circle w/fixed line) and video playback controls, <Action>, <Info> and <Done> icons on bottom. Additionally the scrub bar will be on the preferred side chosen in Profile.
Drawing Tools
Pressing any of the three drawing tool icons to add that drawing element. Any element can be dragged and adjusted with your fingers to align and size as needed. Use the iNSTA-Pro Analyzer zoom technique simply by placing two fingers on the screen and move them apart or together to make the tools larger or smaller. By rotating the two fingers you can change the angle to put it exactly as you want it.
To unselect an element tap anywhere else on the screen. To reselect the element, tap on top of it. Selected elements will have a blue (unlocked) or orange (locked) halo around it. Locked elements can not be modified, use the <Lock> icon to toggle between the two states.
When any unlocked element is selected you can set the color of the tool by pressing one of the five choices that appear. To delete the selected element tap the <Trashcan> icon.
The iNSTA-Pro Analyzer allows for multiple analysis elements to be added to the screen for an almost infinate amount of evaluation scenarios - limited only by your imagination.
Playback
You play the video using the controls at the bottom left. Use the play button to start and pause playback. When paused you can step frame by frame by tapping >>| (frame forward) or |<< (frame reverse) once for each frame. Dragging the scrubber control up or down will also advance by frame forward or backward and allow for realtime viewing of particular portions of the swing (as in “what are my hands doing now..?”)
Tap on the Time control above the scrub bar to freeze that frame in ghosting mode. Now as you play or scrub you can compare the time between the two frames. Tap the Delta Time control to reset the ghosted frame. Tap the Time control again to cancel the ghosting mode.
